MAGGIE - WEEK THREE
Maggie continues to astound us with her sparkling, bubby personality. She has the won the hearts of our staff, volunteers and anyone that meets her.
She is getting used to her baths and it seems her hair is coming back in, although maybe it's just that we can see more without the open wounds and fresh scabs. She still has some minor scabs and scarring, but her pretty red hair is starting to poke through.
We have to be careful about how much time she spends in the sun as she has no coat to protect her skin. But as you can see from the photos, she loves being outside and going for a walk.
Initially, Maggie showed a bit of aggression from her crate towards other dogs, but has actually proven to be very friendly. She was introduced to one of our staff's dogs and actually loved having a buddy to meet. She did so well, in fact, that she has just been moved into a foster home with 2 other dogs. She is thriving!
She continues to take medication daily and receive her bi-weekly baths. We can't thank everyone enough for their support. Maggie had no chance at the shelter and would just be another statistic if we didn't have the financial support to rescue her and others like her.
