GETTING INVOLVED IN THERAPY WORK

Certify Your Dog as a Therapy Dog
Get involved in the Lend a Paw program with your own dog. If your dog has the right temperament but doesn’t have his basic obedience skills, you can take our 6 week training course to prepare both of you for certification. If your dog already has the required obedience skills, your dog may be eligible to join our team provided he/she passes our evaluation exam. Foster a Lend a Paw Rescue
Become a part of our Therapy Dog Foster Team! We need foster homes for our trained therapy dogs. Help our program by caring for and maintaining the training of one of our LAP dogs. Foster parents are also eligible for adopting the therapy dog once the foster contract is complete. For more details on fostering, click here.

Volunteer as a Handler or Join Us at our Therapy Locations
Still interested in helping but you don’t have your own dog or the ability to foster? You can still get involved! Our Lend a Paw team can provide you with the handling skills needed to work with a current LAP dog and you can volunteer your time to join us at some of our therapy locations or the Ranch.
