Meet NLOL's newest senior gentleman! Elliott was sitting quietly in his cage at Chicago's Animal Care and Control when we strolled by. He looked up with those big brown eyes and we were hooked! This sweet old guy was picked up as a stray near the Montrose dog beach, and we can't believe that someone could lose such a wonderful dog and not come pick him up. He's truly a diamond in the rough!

Don't let Elliott's regal and exalted looks fool you - this guy is all about fun and attention! He LOVES to go for walks and while he does pull just a little bit, it's all because he's so eager for his next adventure. 9 years is not that old for a Cocker and his energy level is more on par with a 5 year old dog. Elliott would be a good partner for a moderately active person who is just as comfortable taking walks as chilling on the couch. He doesn't care what's happening as long as he's with his person or family.

We suspect that Elliott may be partially deaf, which is not all that surprising given the propensity of Cockers to have ear problems. Due to his age, he is also showing signs of cataract growth. However, you'd never know that he doesn't have the senses of a puppy, because not much gets past this old guy! There's nothing wrong with his sniffer - he is incredibly food motivated and will do anything for a special treat. He crates well and appears to be cratetrained, so we suspect that he may be housetrained as well. Elliott gets along with other dogs, but prefers the company of people. We have not tested him with cats or kids yet, but on walks he has seen kids and he really wants to go say hi! The nub-tail goes crazy!

Please contact us today if you are interested in meeting, fostering or adopting this adorable old guy.
