Herbie has been through a lot in the past year from what we gather from his previous owners who dumped him back at the shelter. He was adopted as a puppy by what he thought would be his forever home, but year later, the family surrendered him staing in their notes about him that "he's not good with dogs, kids, people, he's good for nothing." We couldn't help but immediately question this particular note and asked if we could meet Herbie in person.
Nani means "beautiful" in Hawaiian, and when we first laid eyes on her, that's exactly what we thought! Nani was one of the dogs who didn't find a home at the end of a big adoption event; when we came across her, she was laying down with her head propped up to the kennel wall, fast asleep.
She is a very sweet girl, but being what we believe to be a purebred Miniature Pinscher, she is also curious and independent -- which is typical of the breed.
We love our little man: Meatball!
Before he was rescued from a high-kill City shelter, things looked pretty grim for this stumpy stud-muffin. His cropped ears and pearly white teeth didn't help when it came to impressing potential adopters -- despite his ache to love, snuggle and kiss anyone who would give him the chance.
